Tire question
« on: October 02, 2016, 10:42:45 AM »
Hey all,
i know the same ol question, yes i read all the posts but had to ask!
if i use 255/60/15  in the rear which is 27.1 diameter
can i use 225/70/15  which is 27.4  which is the stock size in the front?
it's the closest but a tad bigger than the rear , but hardly nothing,
i could go with 215/70/15 which is 26.9  but only 8.7 wide the 225/70 is 9 inch wide and the 255 is 10.2
i wanna go with 255 all around but i think they are alittle too big for the front.
advice??? i have the stock rally two's
Thank's Guys!

255 is fine. On lowered cars, you may need to roller the inner fender lip. Not a big deal.

yeah i dont wanna do any of that but then again my car should be stock height.
so you think go with 255 for the front or stick with 225/70/15 the stock size?
but like i said in previous post tiny bit taller tire than the back  ,03 taller minimal

Go the wider if you can, improves overall stance and handling and traction up back.

Missed your question, not sure why you wanted smaller up front or what worried about there. I personally prefer the offset look since the rear fenders are larger openings, and the same all round can make the front look larger, or the rear smaller, I like them to match. The front track is also wider than the rears so if you fill the fronts, the rears are still inside the lip with same sizes.

Not sure if that's what you meant. Anyway, if that's what you mean then only step down to the same size but perhaps 245 or even 235 but keep an eye on the diameter, have to check when you may need a 65 series for same diameter of rears. Having different tyres from front to rear also limits your rotating them, although that's more of a daily driver thing.

I'd go with the 255's, it'll handle better.

thanks, yeah wanted to make sure the 255 all around would fit the front. i already ordered 2 tires caught a sale on bfg's $285 shipped not bad,
was gonna try them on the front make sure they dont rub.
Then get the other two. so confused was also thinking on getting 275 for the rear if the 255 fit the front

stay with 255 on all 4's. Allows you to rotate tires.
