this is a picture of my old y88 after the fire in 1997 she had 39,000 miles on it that day and she still has 39,000 miles but is looking much healthier that this particular day. my uncle just found this picture and wanted to give it to me

then here is the 77 y82 i just got. yes she's rusty and yes she has the #'s matching 400 i do have a very solid 77 that i am thinking about chopping up to make this car a winner again. I always wanted to be the bandit and well here she is in her almost forgotten about life and the only one i can find affordable to me.

Look's like a nice project car y88 Rick . We have the same dream ,a black SE !      But I think all Rick's think alike lol

How much time do you think it's going to take to fully restore her and how's the rust undernieth  ?
I am sure your answer is going to be : as long as it takes

my guess with my free time (none) 3-10 years lol. im going to do a rotisserie on it so it will be a very long long road to get her up to par again. probably just in time to be worth 6 figures. lol

Sorry I changed my post a little . Is the rust acceptable on the sub frame and floor pans? Or do you think you will have to buy new pans ?

yes it has the gay hurst roof in it. the drivers side is the worst side. the floors are still nice the drivers quarter door and fender have seen their better days. the passenger side is totaly fine. except a tree limb came down on the roof and screwed it on the pass side. the front seats are incorrect and some of the interior is tan. either way i have a #'s car with the phs on it and thats the insperation behind it. the owner thought the motor was not original. he actually thought it was an olds 350 rocket lmfao. I forgot to ad the hood is screwed as well. as this is a 77 not a 78 so it was hurst roof or nothing.

Are the Hurst T-tops the 1st or 2nd design?            ;)

Actually I was wondering the same thing . At least if they were the 1st gen ,you could still buy new seals . It's going to suck to mod a true SE .
I was thinking that you may try to replace the roof with fishers  instead?

i have another roof with the hurst hatches and i only have the drivers side glass thats good. this is a really good question as to which design it is. how can i tell? may sound stupid but the hurst hatches are not exactly my specialty. I would love to put a fisher roof on the car but then the value would drop and nobody would believe it is a y82 so i cannot put on the goodie t-tops
