Last week driving the T/A home after dropping off Kurt at work, I heard an awful noise coming from the left side of the motor. Only a ½ mile from home I idled back, and pulled the drives side valve cover off to find the #7 exhaust rocker stud broke off. I was lucky the lifter stayed emplace and the push rod was the making the noise taping on the valve cover. After looking at the failed parts I noted that the nut holding the rocker on was threaded off center line and when it was installed it only made contact on one side which I think stress the stud. Needless to say I checked the other 15 and all other were true. Installed a new stud and nut and all is good!

Oh MAN! THERE'S a heart attack that NOBODY needs! If I would have seen that in my engine ,the part in Ferris Buhlers Day Off where Ferris says "This is where Cameron freaks out" would have been NOTHING! They would have heard me screaming on MARS. And with all the work you put into that car! I would have probably snapped my cap and been put in a soft room eating soft food.

For anyone who is interested below is a link to a Mustang site that Kurt & I are posting the progress of his car. All is going well and we rented a 40x27 shop about an 1/8 of a mile away from home so now we have a place to paint a car (or two?)
Thanks!
Pat
