tata:
these came off my 1981 trans am. Never seen plastic before.  Anybody know?

Wallington:
Cost cutting?

tata:
Maybe, or ran out of metal ones ,and 82 is the start of plastic.

Wallington:
What are the part numbers, see if the same. I assume they are original, can totally imagine the GM replacements years later being plastic though. They'd probably go brittle and powdery over time like other trim in the sun and heat.

tata:
It has abs-2a under that is rev.3    then in the middle    L/F no. 20257049 with a syr under the part number then a big 2 LH...but I think I solved it. I guess you could still call gm and buy new ones for a 75-81. They would send you  these and I guess you could of got some (clear) ones with paint, among other interior parts. Not sure how true this is but I guess you could of still got these in 2001 if you ordered them threw gm. But please do check the number if you can.
