Some pics of my Race Car .....
« on: May 15, 2010, 03:45:12 PM »
I thought it was about time i posted some pics on here as Steve ( Sir English Firebird ) says that its a must do thing.......

So here goes, ive owned it for a while now and its been a real touch and go car as ive been through good times and bad times, but ive always somehow managed to keep hold of it.

I used to run it as a street and strip , but after a seasons racing i decide to teardown the lump and give it a freshen up.

I discovered that it needed a little more love than i had first imagined, broken rings, badly worn cam, valves not sealing, timing chain stretched etc.. dont know how it performed like it did,and so, it became more , alot more......
since starting the rebuild the car has been in and out of storage 3 times, lost the use of the workshop it was in 3 times, had 2 major financial crisis, thought i was going to lose the car!
hopefully now i have my own business and workshop i can make some progress again.
anyhow enough chit chat , heres some pics....

Ill post some more when i get the chance and if anyone wants to know more about it please feel free to ask.
All the work has been done by me.
Steve.

thanks, as long as i beat sir english firebird i'll be happy!! lol  ;D
i will post some more over weekend, had to transfer some to disc because pc was clogged up with photos..
i have put the car on a serious diet to help the power to weight ratio, it now has a lighter front clip,(i love that hole saw) the clip is also fully welded to the shell to stop it flexing,
fibreglass doors, fenders, trunk lid, hood, nosecone is just the outer skin,
lexan side windows, no dash or heater or carpet or anything that dont need to be there!!
plastic fuel cell in trunk, also battery relocated to trunk..
