I'm about to start working on my 80 again and I'm wondering how do I tell if I need to replace my leaf springs. Someone has put the adjustable shackles on it and lifted the back end so they could fit a 275-60-15 and added some goofy fender flares. The flares are removed now and I want to make it stock again. So how can I tell if they need replaced?

Well if they are the factory springs, most likely they are sagging already, when you remove the spring if it has any cracks or breakage it will need replaced, otherwise you can continue using your stock ones, but the chances of the rear of the vehicle sitting in a lower position than stock is possible

If you remove them in more than one piece, they are bad.
Easy sign is to look where they meet the diff housing. should be an arch upward. Old ones and failed ones are flat or even arched downward at this point.
X2 for the above
