Are there any headers that I can put on my 79 TA 403 that dont require modification?

Don't know abouit fitment as I haven't purchased them. But it looks promising...

I called Thorntons and they said they will fit in my 79 no problem and that the exit is in the same place as the stock manifolds. Ordered a pair yesterday

Stock manifolds on an Olds Firebird or stock on Olds something...you'll find out soon enough. Are you wanting to keep 40yr old single exhaust system but swap to ahorty headers? I'm confused but yes, they'll need modification to fit regardless.

Different set but same manifolds to suit what the headers do. Original Firebird are rusted, clearly differences in exits and regardless, these were to suit a single exhaust with cross over, if the headers even bolted up you'd only get one side connected to system.
