No insurance. Not they'd pay for the "junkers" I have down there.

Thanks guys. I'll know more once this recedes and I can actually get in there. I'm sure the body is ok. It's just everything else. Mostly the upholstery and the trannies. All of which for the car is either on the floor or not far off of it.  And from the looks even the trucks interiors are probably not good.

Gawd that sucks Larry. I hope you can save some of your stuff. If there is sewage in that water make sure you use some sanitizer or bleach-water to clean off anything you intend to keep (car shell, sheer metal, hand tools, etc.).

Keep your chin up and try not to get too down over this. If you need to vent, you know where we are.

Sewage, different types of fuels from various gas tanks/cans, heater, buckets of oil, engines and trannies, whatever had been drained down the floor drain before I moved in. (It always reeked.) And of course the sewage from the neighboring houses.

Sorry to see this happening Larry but, you'll rebound, folks that took losses with Katrina are rebounding, you will too.  Let us know if there's anything we can do for you.

Thanks Rich. I do know this is nothing like Katrina or any real disasters. But you guys know what it took for me to get back to where  I was. To get the 'bird here and all the parts everyone sent. And now most of it's destroyed. All because someone forgot to close a storm drain valve.

That's not a bad idea. I doubt they'll take it seriously (as a bill). But it would probably make me feel a *little* better.

If I had parts for you I'd be more than willing to donate something to replace something you had that is now ruined.  But all i have is an arm rest and a broken headlight surround.  But I figure the majority of your losses will fall into the electrical, interrior, and fluid mechanics of the car.

Wait, it's due to a closed valve? So, someone really DID 'cause' it?

get a rope.

That sucks dude, don't know what else to say.... perhaps, next time, overhead/up high storage areas just in case?
