reproduction ws6 springs
« on: August 26, 2009, 07:32:32 PM »
I am new to this sight, but I am a big Trans Am fan, and am currently resto moddiing an 81 model, I'm having a hard time finding reproduction ws6 leaf or coil springs.  If anyone could tell me where to find some I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not aware of any differences in the springs on WS6 cars.

Most of the large catalog parts companies carry springs (leaf and coil) also.

I guess I should have stated that my car is not originally a ws6 car.  I am looking to put all the ws6 components on it.  I looked on a few sights to see if anyone specified a ws6 replacement spring, but I couldn't find anything other than a regular replacement spring.  If anyone could provide a company name that is reputable, I would appreciate it.

shameless plug, if you are restomoding you may want a stock appearing spring that is better than the WS6, we just got such an animal we should have them on display at the T/A nationals this week end

That would be a great solution.  I don't want to lower the car, and all the aftermarket performance springs I have found lowers the car.  I would appreciate any info on the springs you speak of and where I can purchase them.  Thanks!

the WS6 used the 126# 4 leaf spring, as mentioned it is available (just not listed as WS6) but in a restomod application the goal is to improve performance without altering the original look too much this is why we came up with this new leaf spring that are stiffer for better performance but still look stock
