Z bar rebuild and install
« on: February 14, 2012, 10:41:26 PM »
I could use some help assembling the z bar.
I have my old setup,plus a new z bar.
I've studied the diagrams but not sure what holds the z bar/associated parts together.
Everything is just installed/pressed together.
Using the chevelle diagram just for basic reference.
Thanks

It just pivots/rotates on the two ball studs. one in the block and the other in the bracket on the frame.
What's she wearing now? Come on!
1976 Black 455 4 speed (current project)
1976 White 400 Auto (original)
F-body stuff stashed everywhere.

Thanks.
I need to order all the small washers and other parts as the originals are rusty.
I have the z bar and the 2 sets of new ends that fit into block and frame.

Could you take pictures of your cars setup installed? I'd love some future reference for when I do the swap as this part is probably the most perplexing...
