It seems like they always start out simple, but then they get more complicated

ooook i figured out the stalling problem...huge vacuum leak on both sides of the intake on the cross-over so theres where i was loosing 5-6in of vacuum which was why it was falling on its face under load. so tomorrow i'm going to measure it to the heads and get her shaved down even. thanx for tuning in and hopefully she will be on the road shortly!

Well a little update for ya while im on......Got the intake cut down and it is put back together and the 800 Q-Jet is off as it is to big for the motor. Right now there is a 500 econo-master on it to make sure everything works and to see if it would go down the road, and it does! That is all i really know at this point. Going to grab a 600 Q-Jet and go from there!!!

yes it went down the road but needs a bit of tuning. and the 800 carb is going back on the car, took it down to the guy that did the mods on it and put it on his test engine and said its perfectly fine, doesn't flood that tiny test motor at all so it shouldn't flood mine plus he said he set the carb up to run very lean, he said it doesn't sound like i have enough intial timing and will be glad to stop over and get her tuned up right since he just finished a 70 GP with a 455 so everything about Pontiacs is fresh in his mind, lol!! so hopefully soon and rick you will be the first to get a ride at the Nats, lol

Well i got it back together and installed the new distributor and got it running again! The battery is shot so it keeps shutting off! Charge it up and it starts, runs and shuts off shortly after, and only has like 9 volts in it! He is getting a new on tomorrow! We will keep ya posted!!

sorry i haven't been keeping ya'll posted but i've been busy with work and trying to get this car on the road with no avail unfortunately, every time i turn around its another issue or it won't start or it starts but doesn't stay running. i know Rich had this kind of trouble too but this is extremely frustrating to even think about! anyways i've been talking to a very helpful tech guy at summit and he is doing everything in his power to get me and my car to the Nats in a few short weeks.  tomorrow i'm taking my summit digital ignition which is 2 years old back to summit for a full refund per Mike the tech guy and he is upgrading me to an analog MSD 6200 box for 160 bucks which is cost! i'm installing to tomorrow when i get back so cross your fingers!!
