Title: FM Radio for 77 Trans Am
Post by: fb_rider on May 22, 2006, 10:06:27 PM
Does this appear to be a radio that would have come in a 1977 Trans Am?  I've found a couple of am radios, but this is the first am/fm that I've seen that I think is correct for this year?

I believe the part numbers for a 1977 AM/FM were 70HGPK1 (with fader) and 70HFP1 (without fader).

Make sure you match the speakers and radio.  1977 and prior had grounded speakers, while 1978 and beyond use undgrounded speakers.

The Radio is from a pre-78 GM from the appearance. the face place has a seperation between the dial face and the push buttons. If it were a 78 or later there would be no seperation ( one hole).

Hope this helps
