1978 Solar Gold Trans AM Project

Hello everyone,
I am new here so here it goes. Two weeks ago I brought home my dream car...A 1978 Solar Gold Trans Am. The car of my youth Ha ha. I bought the car from a guy that said it had been sitting on his driveway (at a 45 degree angle, engine down) for the last 12 years. I had been looking for about a year and finally found the car I wanted to restore.
It does not have the original engine in it like the seller said. It has a 1973 V 8 400 CID (engine code 23A######). Probably replaced for more hose power than the orig 1978 version of 400 (170 HP) ?? I have been working on it for two weekends now. Found build sheet under left rear passenger side of seat or what was left of it (only about 25%). Can read Performance Package so that is cool.
I got the front end off this weekend and blew out out the engine, front end and engine bay with air hose. I collected a trash bag full of leaves and dirt. I am tearing it all the way down and rebuilding it piece by piece. Pictures coming soon.

Cool, post pictures asap! As far as the build sheet goes, check under the rear seats, that's where I found mine, and it's in perfect shape. Good luck with your endeavor, and have fun. Post any questions that you have, and someone will answer.
