just curious...where does PHS get the info? if thier price keeps going up someone (not me) might find a diff. source

The only source is Pontiac's old Microfiche files, and Jim at PHS owns them.  He has to go through the Microfiche to find the info on any given car, not a real easy task.

I think it takes him way more than an hour most of the time.  I've met him twice (nice guy) and he told me how tedious it sometimes is to find the info for a car.  I think  $65 is a bargain for what you get.  My first PHS packet years ago was $35, then they went up to $50, now $65.

Ya, mine was 30-$35 years ago, $65 just seems high.

I would pay 100 if that is what it took to verify a rare pontiac. a small price to pay to get a deal or save yourself from getting screwed.

Then maybe it's just me, I don't think they are a real rare care, it's just a trim pkg, alot of people don't know about the rare Pontiacs, if you read about the rare stuff, golt t-tops are nothing! this book lists the rare cars and parts,

The car look's really good for a builder and look's like a good deal.If you can get it between 1,500--2,000 I would grab it.You could get all you'r part's together while you'r cruising around in it.I'm glad I did the PHS thing after I bought mine and found out I had 1 of 1100 made in 1979 with my option's.400/4-Speed/WS6/SE/T-Top/rear disc brake's/Black on Black...Good luck with it if you get it I don't think you could go wrong buying it........My 2 cent's........Tim.

Hurry up and go get it......you'll be glad you did.   ;)

I've been slowly getting all the stuff together to do a complete restore on my Y88.  You just have to dig and have patience.

I'm working on it guys! Have been going back and forth with the seller, and have gotten him down to $2000, and he seems firm at that price. I'm fine with that, and am sure we'll close the deal once I can get transportation sorted out for it. I have been waiting to hear back from the seller for a few days now, so the suspense is killing me too! Once I have the car, I'll get the PHS docs for it. I'll keep you guys updated. Here's a few more photos from my visit.
