Is there a trick to removing the front kick panels? I've tried removing the screws, but the kick panels both seem to be glued in place?

Yes, they are glued in place with like a sealant. Make sure you have all of the screws out...... there are some that sometimes people over look when removing them.

You will also have to unhook the upper vent cable which is no easy chore either. My car doesn't have air, I'm not sure if cars with air have the upper vent.

Cars with air don't have the manual vents on the kick panels. I like those, but my car has air so I don't have them.
