Problems with upgraded headlights
« on: March 30, 2017, 10:42:11 PM »
So I got a great deal on some new LED headlights to put into my 77 TA. They work great. Super bright. Highs and lows work as they should.
Problem is....as soon as I start the Car so it's running and turn on the lights, all my gauges go crazy bouncing all over the place. Shut the lights off and all my gauges go back to normal. And if I put the cheap stock 4651 & 4656 lights back in, then everything works fine.
I really want to use these LED headlights cuz they are really bright and take less power to run.
I'm not an electrical guy at all.
Anyone got any suggestions as to what it could be??

just so that if anyone else has this problem......
i had to add a ground wire to the gauge cluster from the steering columb bracket and one to the headlight switch as well
cured my problems and the LED headlights work great with no issues now

Extras help, but they have them originally anyway.

Hi,

What headlights did you get?  mine are getting dull and one has rust stains inside, was thinking of replacing them.

Thanks
