I'd rather have "original".

We could have this made no problem but will not be 1005 dead on correct, price tag per unit would be like $75.00 also so not sure there would be alot of interest.

I suppose I should clarify: I could probably make the piece to satisfy me and serve it's intended purpose(no intention of marketing said item).

But I agree that it's best when a repro item not only looks good but meets the standard of the original.

I know of a man in wellington, ohio that sells replacements for the 79 olds 403, as I had the same problem. Actually, when I tried to remove the bolts securing them suprise! they broke. That was an amazing amount of labor. Remember to heat them bolts up kids!

I've been looking on ebay off and on and haven't seen one yet.  Glad you found one.  Mind if I ask what you got it for?  And whether there were many bids?

i think there was only 7 bids & only 3 bidders besides me. there was no activity on it all week as i watched it & i made damn sure i was there when it ended.    i was prepared to pay about $50 as was mentioned earlier but actually got it for $27 + $5 or 6 s/h.
