Rear end diff noise...
« on: March 21, 2019, 01:21:28 PM »
I recently got the 1979 TA out of winter storage and took it out a few times over the last month and am noticing a growling coming from the rear end. Thought it may be the rear disc's rubbing but eliminated that by deduction. Sounds like the rear end to me?

What is the best oil to use in the rear end diff and to what level does it get filled? How much volume does it hold? I removed the allen head plug on the cover plate and stuck an end of a zip tie into the plug hole and there is oil in it but it does not appear to be that thick of a oil.

What is the best product to use on these positrac rear end diffs?

Thanks for any advise and help with this question.
