77 Esprit. Project to Trans am

Where is my project, I been working on for some time now.. Figured it was about time to share my  build ...
Here are a few pics of what i started out with..

Car looked good on outside but was in pretty rough shape..

Left side floor pan replaced with patched toe board.


Right side floor pan replaced with patched toe board.


Got the old firewall cleaned up, old seam sealer stripped off. Painted with chassis saver then re-seamed sealed. Finished off with some Matte Black.

Picked up a 80 Trans am parts car. Complete car that ran.. Kinda feel bad to cut it up but got it cheap with no title.



Passenger side frame rail was in bad shape, Replaced the whole rail from the parts  car..


Old rail next to the donor rail..

Replaced 9 inches of the end of drivers rail, Then trunk pan welded in place.


Tail panel all welded in place


Poor mans 2in mini tubs, cut the tubs out and added a 2in strip in place.


Underside of the car stripped, rust cleaned up,painted and undercoated.

Subframe from the donor car. All cleaned up and sandblasted,painted up with Chassis saver satin black. New Moog ball joints, Moog outer tie rod ends with sleeves, Eibach lowering springs, Prothane upper and lower control arm bushings with bump stops.New Rotors and wheel bearings





My step dad had a 1980 Trans am disk brake rear end.. So worked a deal out with him and picked it up.. Stripped, painted with Satin black Chassis saver, replaced seals and bearings, Prothanes pads along with Prothane leaf spring bushings, 2inch lowering blocks.

Sub frame installed with all new front brakes, Heater core and AC box..


Rear brakes finished, New rotors,Calipers, Morso Ext wheel studs. Gas tank installed with sumped and coated inside of tank with Red Kote.. Also comp engineering subframe connectors installed.

Looking really nice. How many man hours into it?Just sold all my cars this summer cause I just dont have the facilities to work on them anymore. I will now be living my dreams through youse guys!

Trunk and tail panel sprayed black..


Dash and Windshield edges painted.


New windshield installed and back glass installed.


    
Trunk and back bumper finally on for good.. Underside of trunk lid painted..

Little dash repair and dyed black. Installed back into the car.
