79 SE 4 Speed Project
« on: October 09, 2015, 10:16:13 AM »
Got a pretty good deal on this SE, some work to do but I don't mind. Its an original 4 speed SE with the 301. I heard a lot of horror stories about this engine , but this one runs smooth so I'm going to keep it. I knew the floor needed work so that's where I started, I'm glad there was a half a** job done on the floor repair because it will make it easier for me fix. They used rivets and fibreglass instead of cutting and welding... :) Once I got the floor pans out I noticed the Torque box was rotted, so that was removed and now I'm getting ready to weld a new one back in. That's as far as I got right now, but I'll post pictures as I go along. First time at this but I'm a fabricator by Trade so hopefully those skills will help me along and feel free too pass along any tips..
Cheers

Look forward to seeing pics of this.  I believe you have the rarest of SE cars...not many came 301, 4spd and SE package in '79
