Where to buy ZDDP locally.
« on: September 04, 2011, 04:26:19 AM »
One of my older vehicles is overdue for an oil change--which is very rare with me.

But I am buying normal Valvoline this time instead of VR-1, so I need some extra ZDDP additive to help with it's tappets. However AutoZone and Oreilys don't have anything, and I'd like to get it today to do the change, and not wait for online shipping.

Anybody know local-type shops that would regularly carry this stuff?

Is it the lucas oil treatment, or is it specifically a ZDDP additive?

I thought break in additive has too much ZDDP for everyday use, and should only be use upon breakin?

I have read countless articles that say using too much Zink can be bad(just google it).
