295/55/15

Those look really good, I'm running with the old 235/75/15 that came on my car.  If I ever get some 15x8's I'm gonna put those tires on mine, but the clearance in those wheel wells isn't very good is it?

The stock snowflake wheels that came on the car are 15x8 correct?

Andy, you say there's not much rubbing going on?  Those tires look great, pretty beefy.

BTW these were the two models of Cragar wheels I was interested in:

They're actually 15x7's, you got the 15x8's if your car had the ws6 package.  I like those 330's Big10in, they would look sweet on a T/A

Thanks for the info Jman.  I was looking at the cragars because I wanted some beefier wheels, but honestly the 15x8 snowflakes with 285 or 295 tires looks pretty beefy.  It might come down to which is less expensive.  Also, I figure I should mention my car is solar gold.

I'm curious, I've read the Snowflakes were offered as part of the WS6 package.  My car is not a WS6, but it has the original snowflakes.  Are my snowflakes diffrent than the WS6 wheels?  I find that a little hard to imagine they made two different sized snowflake rim options.  Can anyone confirm the size of the original wheels I'd have on my completely stock 403 79 TA, Gold?

Just like these, you would have the 15x7 inch flakes.

So it looks like if I want 15x8 snowflakes I'll have to order from year 1.  I think I might go that route.  It looks much better with the extra inch and the extra rubber.

I have 265/50-15s in front and 275/50-15s in the rear with 15x8.5 Cragar Astro Sprints, about 3.75" backspace and car is lowered 2.5 inches in front and about 1" in the back.  the 265/50 is a nice tire size in that it has about the same height of the 235/60 but is 1.25" or so wider and a lot squarer.  only problem is you'd probably want to lower the suspension to close up the wheel well gaps.

I believe I've made up my mind. I'm going to run YO 15x8 snowflakes with 285-55-15 up front, and 295-55-15 in the rear.  Also, the YO wheels are WAY less expensive than buying from Cragar.

I looked online and was able to find 295/55 just fine.  Even with the link provided in this thread.

Ok... So out of curiosity I checked Goodyear and BFGoodrich For some tires in 285/55/15.  I seem to be able to finc 285/55 no problem, but none of them are offered for a 15" wheel.  Is that something you'd have to custom order or something?
