Hi There,

I wondered if anyone could help with a few codes, my brother has just purchased a Trans-am, it is a 1980 gold Trans-am, the code which can be seen through the windscreen is 2W87TAN100001

and the plate under the hood reads a code which is Y84.

any help would be appreciated.

2=Pontiac
W=Trans am 75-81
87=Sport Coupe
T=301 c.i.d, TC 4-bbl V8 (turbo) (1980 - 81)
A=1980
N=Norwood, Oh Built
100001=Production Number

your production number is 100001? does that mean it was the very first of it's kind to roll off the line? that would be incredible

sorry I don't understand, does Y84 mean this is a special edition?
