Post by: 79_455 on September 25, 2017, 02:34:35 AM
Hi

Does anyone know all the factory ground points for  a 1979 trans am?

I'm specifically looking for the transmission grounds..

If anyone has any info, id appreciate it..

Thanks

For the 403 the battery ground is attached to the engine at cylinder #1 and there is an engine ground strap attached to the fire wall.  I am not aware of any direct transmission ground.  Here is a diagram I created to help with a similar question.  Hope this helps.

There's a redundant ground from the transmission case lower bolt on the Driver's side into the engine block and runs across to the body near where the speedo cable bracket is.
