Hi guys can anyone tell me the right way to take out and install a front subframe for me 79 trans am?

well all that depends....do you plan on taking off the fenders and front bumper ? if not then you just unbolt the 6 frame bolts and lift the car up off of it.....that is of course after you disconnect all the lines,wires, and hoses that will be attached to the motor....

I believe that '76 to 81 sub frames are the same. (Someone please let me know if I'm wrong.) But any from '70 and up will work with a few changes.

I've read others say they are the same but the ones I've seen in Camaros look different.

yes the camaros and firebirds use the same subframe for 2nd gens....same thing with the first gens they are interchangable between firebird and camaros

They even have the bolt patterns for both drilled in all of them.

My 78TA was hit hard on the right side,right at the wheel.I swapped in a 76 Camaro Sub Frame.Everything was the same except the TA had little struts that went from the lower control arm bracket to the frame.So all I did was locate the holes and install the struts.The hardest thing is supporting the body without damaging anything. Oh and take lots of pictures.Its nice to have for reference.
