floorpans and front end
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:10:07 PM »
I will be changing the floorpans in my car in early Feb.  I was thinking about taking the front subframe off before hand, is this a good idea or should i just leave it on??  If I take them off how should i keep the frong end of the car jacked up and off the ground? I have to take the subframe off sooner or later anyway because I need to change all the rubber including the subframe bushings, This summer I plan on sanding and painting the subframe.

I would do one or the other first.  If you plan on taking the front subframe off, then do that first, finish it, then put it back on before you do the floor pans.  Or, do the floorpans first with the frame still on, finish the repair, then remove the front subframe.  If you do both at the same time you run the risk of having the body warp on you.
