Where to find LED strips???
« on: March 22, 2008, 03:17:11 PM »
I'm needing just some generic LED strips. Maybe something that I can make different langths or that come in different lengths. I need a couple different colors too, but mainly red. There's a kid at work that says he knows where to get them, but after 2 months he still hasn't gotten me the info. Does anyone here know where to get any?

Yeah, someone over at TAC suggested Walmart too, but the one near me (read 60 miles away) hardly even knows what they are.

I looked through that site, but they just seem to have finished lights. And nothing shorter than 10". I need something for like creating new light projects that can be made in different sizes as I go. I'm working on my tail lights and want to break them up into shorter sections. (3 per bar)

I posted you a source and a suggestion over on TAC, Larry.  Just letting you know because the post may not get to you before Thursday. :D ;)

Yep, I got it. (Had to call my buddy in NYC to get the info for me early. ;) )
I think you'r idea about building the LED sections myself may work. Not sure yet about the amber t/s lights. I know the 3rd gens had some like that. In fact they are among my favorite Firebird tail lights. But I'm afraid of it turning out too much like a Camaro. But it is something else to think about. Especially if I can't get the sequential lights to work within my budget. (For that matter I'm not even sure they will work right with the LEDs. Might not be enough resistance within each set to get the flashers to work right.)
