There are some 79's with Hurst tops, but they would have been dealer installed, or someone did a roof swap at some point. It was not a GM option any longer on a 79'. If you have the build sheet or phs docs on your car I bet it would not state it was a hatch roof car, more than likely born as a hardtop. GM quit sending cars off to Hurst about halfway through 78' production, from then on it would have had Fisher tops. There were still a lot of dealers that had Hurst Hatches that needed to get rid of them even in 79', and I have seen about 3 documented Hurst Hatch 79's that were dealer installed, but not by Hurst. Also several cars with C&C tops floating around. Dealers would have these tops installed on hardtop cars if the customer wanted a hatch roof car, anything to help get them off the lot. Personally I would pay more for a hardtop, but there are more that like the t-tops, and you give people what they want.
