My first attempt with lead
« on: October 11, 2010, 07:38:36 PM »
today I was welding a patch in my door .  and I thought I would give it a try.  it's harder than what it looks.  it's truly a dying art.

I did OK on the first one and ran out of lead on the 2nd.  fiberglass filler will do the rest.

this was some deep pits I filled

and the patch spot I will finish with fiberglass filler

no, the holes were fixed , I just used the lead like you would filler over the patch.

How much went on the floor? LOL

Very Nice...

Its a dying art because everyone that used to do it is dead because they used to do it.  Unfortunately this is somewhat  of a true statement.  I cannot stress enough that  when doing body work or paint work that no percaution should be spared to protect your health.
