sail panel birds on a 78 and older t/a
« on: July 14, 2011, 12:26:16 PM »
PG doesnt make the decal for the sail panel in other colors , just the gold for the SE cars.   and this guy doesnt like the red bird emblem.

Brett and Pete told me , some use the Formula spoiler bird on there sail panel.

does anyone have a pic of the formula bird on a sail panel?

Pete sent me one to see if it looked OK.  what do y'all think?

I think it'd look OK.

What about a sail panel bird from one of the lady birds - red bird/yellow bird/skybird?

I'd also check with Brett to see if he could get them for you in other colors.

I think i would just not put anything on it.  Or you could always find someone to airbrush one on in the colors that you want.

I actually like the car that Russ posted up. I think what's throwing it off a little is that in the pic of the car Russ posted, the bird is canted to match the roofline. I think lined up as it should be, it'd be fine.

What about one of the nose birds off the early birds then? Or one of the sail panel birds off a 3rd or 4th gen?

Just tossing ideas out there of different colors / styles available.

BTW: Here's a few that showed up when I searched Classic Industries webpage:

Wonder if you took a pic to a vinyl shop if they could cut something for you then? I know they have boatloads of colors available to them. I would think single color would be easily done from what I've seen with our vinyl cutter at work.

i noticed the angle also, which brings up the question of how they are supposed to be. tilted or straight?
