A friend of mine had one like that, also. His was originally build in early 1970, and was kept by Pontiac for promotions, and then sold as a new car in 1971. Looking at the 1971 brochures, it looked to be his car in them, as all of the pictures of the white w/red interior car have the 1970 headrests. It sold last fall, and has been bouncing around in auctions since. According to the PHS, it was a pretty rare color combo, but I don't think it was any kind of "patriot" package. The red interior does stand out a lot more in pictures than blue or black, though.

Dealers did stuff like that.  Special order stuff.  I had a "Spirit of '76" T/A.  Red exterior with white seats, headliner, sail panels and door panels.  Blue dash, seatbelts, kick panels  and console.  My neighbor bought a new Spirit of '76 Chevy Bonanza C10.  Same basic scheme.  Also it had white spoke wheels with a red and a blue pinstripe around them.

I also had a 1972 "Firefox" Formula 455 car.  Had a fox- based graphic scheme on the hood and on the fenders.  Racing seats and a rollbar. Straight from the dealer with all that stuff before it was ever sold.
