thats great. I got that heaft list of parts i posted on friday and now i debate. do i get my block inspected and built orrrrr. do i leave that alone and start on the y88.
dont know but i have a good chunk of change laying around to maybe do both.
my only fear is getting that motor work done and how to NOT scratch the 77 up.

start the Y88.    to do a show car you'll need every dime and more.    take no short cuts with it.  brake it down bag and tag every part.  strip or glass bead every thing.   restore it all, even the parts you don't see.

you'll wish you did  or you'll be glad you did.   build it so it will see another 35- 40 years.

that is the total plan dude. im going to have no regrets with it. like the 77 i wish though it didnt need it, i would have flipped it over to do the belly of it. i wish i would have removed the subframe even though someone already did at one point. its nothing you can see standing up but i know i didnt do it and it bothers me. Im not going to do that again. This is why the 77 will need to go so i can afford to hit every corner 2 times if needed to make it right and tight. I started talking regrets about the 77 when my uncle still owned the y88 and then he started talking about ripping it back down. I guess mentally thats why i never put the car back together myself, i wanted to do a rotisserie top notch on it or nothing at all.

well have had the car a couple days, not sure how many miles i've put on it.trying to shake out the cobwebs now.runs pretty good, but has a little shake about 110-120 :-).had to do it once, handles like i remember my old 88GTA,like a slot car.my dad saw it and like it.he had one a few years back and the way he is bugging about this one,i bet he owns it this time next year.

one question, where do you guys get your 3rd gen parts?i've found a few,but still need the driver door sill.

Hi.check this out.when i bought the car i knew the paint wasn't that great, but i thought i could work with it alittle.bought some pads and stuff and spent a couple hours on the hood, front bumper, and front fenders.for not knowing what i'm doing it came out pretty dang nice.

fast forward to this evening.Rhett,my sisters son,had a baseball game in Anna,so i drove it up there.my sis had seen it before i started buffing it so i showed her how it was turning out,and her and Bruce her husband were pretty happy with it also.during the game we talk about it some as she wants it bad.she had a 84 black and gold trans am when she just got out of highschool(i had a bandit years ago and she wanted to be like big bro).after the game we talked some more as we walk back to the car.they were parked right in front of the GTA so she walked back and looked at it again, saying how much she wanted it,and we laughed as i teased her about giving it to our Dad.

THATS WHEN I GOT TO THE CAR AND SAW WHERE SOMEONE HAD KEYED IT.not bad but down thru the paint,it isn't going to buff out i don't think.front pass fender about 2 1/2 foot long.i had to leave before i hurt someone.a 4 time vet with PTSD and someone is stupid enough to do something like that.if saw them i could snap thier neck and still sleep like a baby that night.got to love the fact you bust your butt to get something, then some punk thinks it's funny to see if they can tear it up.

done venting, but this pisses me off.
