Hitman, you didn't happen to take a picture with the 17 x 9 on the rear and the 15 x 8 on front did you?

I for one would like to see a picture from the side to see what this looks like.

wow, i am going to wait till i see two cars side by side in person for a comparison. I was surprised by hitmans pictures. I honestly thought there would be more of a difference (15 to 17). In fact, I think the absence of the raised white letters, kinda detracts from the period correct modern look of the 17" wheels.  

Period correct - modern look? Don't those two terms contradict each other?

I like them. I knew there would only be a subtle difference. (It's only an inch difference in the radius after all.)
I definitely like them better than the billet ones.

That might be a good look as long as the fronts didn't have a taller sidewall than the rears.

I think they look sick . Kinda gives the car a more modern look ,but maintanes the factory styling .  I think 17's are a good choice ,as 18's just don't leave enough sidewall ,well for are roads anyways . I think they did one heck of a job designing them myself ,and I like how Brett repainted them for his paint scheme . I have to admit the change is a little more subtle than I thought it would be ,but I wish I could see them in person .
I would love to have them on Blue Bird. maybe next year

I really like then. i wasn't too sure im glad you didn't go with a more low profile tire. those seem to be just the right amount of meet where they still almost look stock and not that honda civic 200 rim special wheels with bearly any tire. atleast if you hit a pothole with those tires you wont be replacing the wheel. good choce i like them

well hopefully i don't get attacked too much for this but i think i have to be the first to say i like the 15x8's better on your car brett...... 

1. the 15x8's argent grey works much better with the color scheme of your car.  the color on the 17x9's looks almost black, the lighter argent really sets off the rim.  (maybe a color change on the 17x9's to the argent?)

2. as mentioned, the raised white letters of the 15" tires is more "correct"  for these cars when they are in near stock form.  rwl helps break up the blackness of the tires, especially on a black car with black-ish rims.

3. the extra height of the car the rims create almost starts to look like some cars out there with "dubs"   (20" rims)    kills the original stance these cars have.

don't get me wrong, the 17's are a very nice rim & they did a great job of keeping the original design intact, however, on a stock looking t/a such as brett's they just don't work as well as the 15x8's with classic rwl tires, IMHO.

now if someone had a modified looking car such as a pro-touring or "g-machine" they would probably look much much better.  something lowered down alot & not as stock appearing.

regardless, it looks nice either way but i have to say i prefer the 15's with regular tires.  especially the argent 15's....they look awsome with your decal colors!

Actually I was thinking a similar thing, but wasn't going to say anything  . I think the black car with the darker decals and dark color on the wheels, and having blackwalls all tend to blend together and look pretty subdued. With the RWL's, there was some contrast.

If his black car had gold decals, with gold 17's, it would work better due to the contrasting gold to stand out, and the white letters wouldn't be missed as much. I think the 17's would work on just about any other color too, as long as there's some brightness and contrast going on.

I don't think the wheels are too large for the cars though. I think it's about the limit of what looks right....I wouldn't compare them to the bigger wheels.

I don't think there's much height difference to make a difference, since the tire diameters are very close to original tire diameters.

Here is the info for the white letters, We have had some whitewalls cut in and some letterring done. This guy is fabulous, and does a great job. You can buy the letters, or have him come out and do all the work for you.
