« on: October 28, 2010, 08:33:03 AM »
Some follow up shots of the '76.

Sunny fall day in New England - check
Break in the action for all of the kids' sporting events - check
Vacuum lines re-routed correctly - check
Radiator flushed and hoses repaired - check
Carb adjusted - check
Hoses, lines and wiring checked and up to speed - check
A nice blast through the countryside with my daughter and son for a few photos (with it running like a bear) - priceless

I really like that color. Course I like the car too. Great pics.
It's not about the final destination, it's about the trip getting there.

Thanks everyone - I agree about the 76 (but I'm not impartial ;)). I love the 77-78 nose but it's a little more "in your face" than the 75-76. I think the 76 is a little nicer than the 75 because of the clean grill without the turn signals.

I've always been a "red" guy and drove my regal red 67 Lemans through high school. Speaking of "in your face," I think firethorn red is "bold" but not quite over the top, although, given that I'm a fan of a car with a screaming chicken on the hood, I guess it is all relative!!

Car is pretty much away for the winter - the beauty of having a full shop with radiant heat - I've started a long detailing process. Spent a couple of nights now buffing the glass with Zaino glass compound to get out some really old acid rain or hard water spots. Remarkable stuff. Will be claying this weekend to get off some very minor stuff and then multi step full Zaino over the coming week or two. Just bought an original AMFM and will be putting that in with a more period antenna. Winter projects include pulling the interior to replace the underlayment which is original and, uh, aged. Might replace the carpet while I'm at it. It is new but it was put in rather poorly - it literally is about 4" short in the footwells and barely reaches the molding at the doors. I'd like to think I can do a better job when my time comes.....we'll see!! Also going to replace the parking brake assembly and adjust, if not replace, one or both pieces of door glass which are poorly adjusted and have some resulting scratches.

Coffee, football game on the tube, working on the bird....I'll survive winter....
