Barn Find (really a out in the woods find)
« on: February 17, 2011, 01:32:34 PM »
I've known about this car for 12 years, but the guy would never let me go look at it.

today was the day.  and he sold it to me.  sad to say its is a parts only car now.

its a 1974  all #'s  Formula 400 4speed.  ;D

I go back in May to get it. its still frozen in the ground.
I will keep the hole drive line. the Hurst t-top parts. the back glass and all the trim.
it will be stripped of all the parts.  everything will come off.
I just cant keep the body, its an old junk yard. so I dont get the title.

Nice find Doug even if it's for parts, people just don't realized how bad the elements hurt these cars, I've seen some that say they are going to fix them up and let them slowly rust to the ground. It looks like you have got a lot of usable parts, let us know how well it works out.

ya it a 76-78 camaro the front of it is smashed , no motor.

I'm going to look into the salvage title ,  so I can just take the hole car.  but the body and floor is really bad from laying on the ground.  I dont even think I would even try to rebuild this one.

Oh that cool.  Just think about how cool it would be to restore and add to the flock. HEH????  You might get an itch for the challenge.

Judging by the aluminum bumper it's a 1975 to 1977.

what ever year it is,,, It will work for cutting the roof off , so I have a roof to go with the Hurst tops from the Formula.

what a waste of a 74. some peoples kids i tell you.

he was telling me how well it ran when he parked it in this spot 18 years ago.   >:(

it only has 50 some k miles on it.  it was making me sick to see her like that.

the manual drive line is worth 3 times what I paid for it.   its all date correct from the carb to the rear end. he told me the 400 or trans has never been out of it.

I hope not.  the sides of the block is covered in oil . thats the only plus for leaking valve covers.

right but years of water running into that block with an exposed carb cant be good. i had to let go of the original motor of a 76 ta i used to own for that reason.

will see how bad it is in a few months. but for what I gave for it I could sell just the trans and make money.

( I got to remember to cut the shifter hump off the floor )
