Just picked up a flexible camera to help me probe under the hood and undercarriage for all number sequences I can get my grubby hands on. I've read just about everything online I can regarding a 400 engine and what to look for and where. So far I've had limited success with a strong light source and my iPhone.
One question...if the finish/patina is original on engine components, is it possible that some numbers could be painted over? I'm having a heck of a time seeing anything regarding the engine and casting code beyond a very slight indication of markings. The last thing I want to do is remove the finish :-\
