My first thought was the 856 mile car, but I am going to say the 1000 mile car.

I thought the exhaust was suposed to be up in front of the gas tank, Is this the correct exhaust on it, the 1000 mile?

Yeah that exhaust is aftermarket.  On my 79 my old exhaust was headers dump into 1 pipe that went to a cat then to a transverse muffler that then split into 2 tips. Nice catch i didn't even see that

why in the world would the exhaust be changed on an otherwise all original car as he claims? makes me wonder what other inconsistancies there are?

Look at the difference of the hood bird.
On the 1000 mile car, the decal is not centered at the tail, and is farther away from the lip of the hood.  Possibly new decal, and was not put on with the correct measurements.
On the 856 mile car, you can see how the edges of the hood bird has faded (maybe from the polishing and waxing).  Also, on the tail, you can see where it is fading with the crease of the hood, and the decal itself looks like it is closer to the edge of the hood.  Making it an original decal?
My guess is the 1000 mile car had a repaint.

"1000" mile car

wow ... $50K or $60K.

Mine must be worth something with <50K miles.  Maybe $10K - $15K?

It's the 856 mile car that's been repainted.  Note the painted bracket on the radiator support by the fender.  It shouldn't be painted silver.
