Dashboard lights...
« on: April 28, 2016, 10:09:24 PM »
So I just got my 1977 Trans Am off the barge-loving it  ;D.  But it's definitely got some quirks.  Is there a trick to getting the dashboard lights on?  My headlights, taillights, and turn signals work just fine with pulling out the lights switch.  I figured the dash brightness could be adjusted by turning the light switch clockwise, but that doesn't seem to do anything.  Is this a common issue that can be dealt with?  Thanks in advance for any replies!

I would pull the gage cluster and check the circuit board on the back. The flimsy copper and plastic laminate is prone to cracking with age.  A new one can be ordered for about $75 if needed - it is very easy to replace.

I agree, when you look at the circuit board, you will see how flimsy it is. Work backward from there. If you need to replace your bulbs, the led replacements on Amazon work real nice, they dim too.
Don't tell me you haven't heard. Everybody has.
