Topic: Can anyone help value my 1979 T/A?

I have a 1979 “6.6 Litre” I’ve self assumed to be the olds engine, with an edelbrock intake and carb, aftermarket headers,  paired to a 4 speed auto, hopefully the pictures will help explain. Floor pans are rusted through, windows leak has some accessory wiring issues, you get the picture. What is the current value? Is it worth repairing and to what extent?  All help is appreciated. Thanks all.

Pics can't be attached to messages without a 3rd party account. A 4-speed auto would have to be added more recently. Current value, not much, it might be worth half of what you spend getting it to decent condition, same as any.

With a manual transmission, (Behind an Olds engine) that isn't original. In 1979, to the best of my knowledge The only engines available with  a manual transmission were the Pontiac engines. And then they were not offered again until 1981 with a 305 Chevrolet engine.

Value? Depends on many things. Running and driving? How many good parts are left? How much is still original?

Stated is was a 4 speed auto, not manual. Stock would have been 3 speed Turbo 350. I agree with Aus78Formula. Standard T/A in really rough condition would not be worth restoring for me, unless it had some kind of sentimental value.

Oops. I misread. It's four speed auto transmission. But still not factory with an Oldsmobile engine.

I agree that the Oldsmobile engine in a 79 could very well be factory, and probably is, but to the best of my knowledge, a four speed automatic, or overdrive transmission wasn't offered until the 3rd generation Firebirds came out. 1983 or 1984 if I remember correctly.
