ook thanks, I'll pick one up in a day or two.

Also, will this multimeter test my guages too. or was that another tool use on the gauge testing pdf file I got?

You need a variable resistor to bench test the gauge.  The variable resistor takes the place of the sender in the circuit.  Basically, you set the gauge to the desired setting per the spec in the manual by rotating the dial on the resistor.  Once the reading is achieved, you disconnect the variable resistor and check it with an ohm meter (multi meter).  If the ohms are consistent with those in the manual for that particular gauge reading, your gauge is reading per spec.  If not, the gauge isn't accurate.  Simple as that.  Variable resistors cost $3 to $7 at electronics stores.  I use 100 ohm and 500 ohm resistors..... not 100K.....just 100.  Variable resistors are used in volume controls and things like that in electronics.
