Title: Replacement fuel tanks

Mainly for 74-78 models, what replacement fuel tanks have you used? Any brands better or worse or known problems? Anyone used the Dynacorn tank?

I've bought, and been happy with, Spectra brand.
Used one on a '76 and another for my '78...also bought one to use for a '79 but sold it after I got rid of the car.

I might have to get a new one, well, that's a lie, I'm just sick of touching up my used tank that has dents, and a perished sender ring seal has caused some paint damage to my tank.
Seems only one guy stocks them here, stock photo used appears to be Dynacorn but that isn't anything to go by always.

Thanks for the link. I only just received a new Canadian-made Spectra tank a week back. It was a major financial outlay and shipping logistical arrangement. Hopefully it fits!

Shoot.  Wish I got to this earlier.

I picked up an OEM style tank for my '76 from 'Tanks Inc.' just yesterday.  They operate out of Iowa and it's all U.S. Steel, home grown.  Their customer service is amazing.  I placed the order on Friday and my tank, sending unit, pump, straps, and all hardware came all at once (same package) yesterday at 9:00am.

1) The tank is OEM style (21 gal.) painted and cleared.  I'm not exaggerating here but the finish on this tank is perfect.  It's so pretty!  The tank (I opted for their Fuel Injected tank version for a 76') was $240.00.
- The pump is also sump mounted and the tank has interior baffling so under extreme driving the pump will never starve.

2) I went with a 0-90 ohm sending unit for $35.00

3) And I picked up their GPA-6 pump which is for 750hp - 1000hp motors (their top pump) for $280.00

The whole ordering process, customer service was great and I've already recommended them to some other car buddies.  My whole bill out the door was just $669.76. 

This kit versus an ugly fuel cell in a no-brainer.  Especially considering just a fuel cell will run you $850 +.

I've bought several from Advance Auto including the sending unit without any problems. With an online promo code I save 40% and get free shipping. The discount is limited to $40-$50 so I order then separate to maximize the discount.
