1978 Y88 4 speed vs Camaro SS and Vette

Before I had my oil changed at the local GM Dealership, I parked my 1978 Y88 4 speed in front the dealership to take a few pictures....  The older salesmans came out and loved it, and took some pictures also.... Now, there was one young salesman ( in his early 20's ) that was clueless on a muscle car.....  So, I told him that I wanted to trade in my car on one of the Black cars, either the Camaro SS or the Vette....  He said the Camaro was $ 43,000.00 and how much do I want for my trade... I said if your car worth that than my car must be worth $ 45,000.00.... so, give $ 2,000.00 so I can drive the SS off the lot...  He looked puzzled, and he thought for a minute and said why $ 2,000.00... and I replied, I will need it upgrade the stereo in the SS because it cannot play 8 track tapes unlike my Trans Am...  He than asked what is an 8 track tape...  ROOKIE......  True story...

a lot of the younger generation is clueless of anything about the cars of the 60's and 70's. should have also told him that there was no speed govenor on your car.. that would have really puzzled him.

i dont know. i bet any 15 year old would even know what an 8 track is. either he is REALLY dumb. or just had a brain fart. like if someone said ladder bar, maybe thinking of an actual ladder. instead of it truly is. idk. im trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Isn't amazing how far we've come in style and design?
Or lack thereof - the 2nd pic you can hardly tell what the Camaro is....

Your Y88 stands out like the classic it is!

I saw a new black camaro today with a red stripe.  I have to admit it looked great.

Had a similar experience. Drove my 77 TA to look at the new Camaro. Couldn't get away to look at the Camaro because several salesman wanted to discuss the TA.
