Cruise control not working
« on: July 12, 2018, 09:29:19 PM »
Hi,

When I click on the cruise control button the tach just jumps momentarily and doesn't engage cruise control.  What can I look for to repair this?

Video of me pressing the cruise control while driving [wife took the video while I drove  :D ]

Thanks in advance.

The video didn't play.  The cruise control is a pretty simple set up. Not much can go wrong. You might want to check to see if they system is holding vacuum.  Check the diaphragm on the engine, check the vacuum lines on the transducer and check the vacuum release attached to the brake pedal. When engaged, the system pulls back the engine vacuum diaphragm to set the speed and will release the vacuum when the brake peddle is pressed.  If that is not it, it could be a bad transducer. You can pick them up for about $100.
