Topic: Step by step '79 resto, it's so much fun!

This '79 was running when I got hold of it but tranny fluid was POURING from the dipstick after just seconds of running. Come to find out it was the wrong converter for the tranny. I yanked it, had it rebuilt, put a mild shift kit in it and stock converter.
 I'm now tackling the doors. New (reman) power window motors, door hinge rebuilds, remove, clean and grease all tracks. Clean and service the regulators. I'm also doing the relay mod http://www.78ta.com/HTAF/index.php?topic=8769.0 it's the first time I've done something like this so I'm taking it slow and being VERY methodical about it. Even with the new motors and a temp ground to the body, the windows go up and down GREAT! I can't wait to take the load off of the switches. do I see a turbo hood?

Yes. It's the hood that came on the car. I have the original shaker hood but didn't have the correct air cleaner assembly until I bought a parts car last week. I'm researching whether the hood hinges should be reworked or just buy some repro's with new springs as well. The ones on the car now are nominal to say the least. One side is really stiff and the other is LOOSE. It's a perfect recipe for a bent hood.
