Really?
I really liked her.
She didn't look like every other girl around (but she did kind of remind me of the Firebird girl Natalie  ;D ).
That was one of my favorite TV shows.

All--

For those of you that voiced a preference for keeping the honeycombs (yes, you were in the majority), I decided you were entitled to a final epilogue...

After much effort, I found a shop here in Dallas willing to turn down the pressure on their bead-blasting equipment to 15 PSI.  They then carefully removed the non-original paint applied by the previous owner and took the honeycombs down to the original lacquer (I did not want them to take all the paint off for fear of damaging the pebble grain in the polycast material).

With their help, I then found a company still willing and able to sell lacquer paint.  Using the correct paint code and one of the centers underneath the center cap (which had never been repainted) as a guide, we matched the color.  I then found another shop willing to paint the wheels and yet another shop willing to carefully mount a new set of BFG radials.

I just finished using a series of Meguiar's products to clay the car, remove swirl marks, polish, and then apply two coats of wax in preparation for the Bandit Run.  I just ran to a nearby business in the community to snap a shot.  It isn't the best photograph in the world, but here's the end result:

Yes, the headlight bezels and grills are a little darker, I ran out of time before I could get them painted to perfectly match--but I do agree with everyone, overall it looks 100% better.

Hokey smokes Tinman, that thing is a beauty!!  The rims are awesome and really look great on the car.  You did a fine job partner, very fine job.

Rich--

Thanks for the kudos, the photograph is VERY forgiving and she has plenty of flaws.  To do it right, I really need to do a rotisserie restoration.

Rick--

No chance that I'll be able to bring it (nor attend) the Nationals this year.  Too many other commitments and moving pieces to contend with down here in Dallas.

I'll do my best to make it next year.

The Honeycombs look great. The little details like centering up the tires with the shape of the wheel center make all the diffence too.
