Title: Decals just won't stick
Post by: N PRGRES on March 11, 2012, 12:35:23 PM
Cleaned the surface good with wax remover and the little pillar birds just will not come off of the top clear paper.  THe bigger decals had no issues but these little guys just will not separate, I need to call PG tomm and see if they will replace them.

RENOVATIONS may have a solution to that take a deep breath

I put the decal in place with gel...press out the gel/bubbles...let sit for an hour or so...and use a small pull area of the paper (if it doesn't separate, try another pull area on the paper (use a very low angle of pull).
It does help if the paper is slightly damp.

If you have no luck, they may very well be defective but I haven't run across any yet that wouldn't separate

I have tried every pull area I can and it won't release ;(

Called PG, they will replace the birds for free, after I send them the bad ones, which I find pretty stupid.

I could understand if it was a high value part, but a sticker?  probably about 5 bucks in material cost.

So I sent them my decals as they requested and have heard nothing for 2 weeks.  I guess I have to call.  Their custer service sucks.  They were supposed to send me two new eagles.  I guess since it was a small order I don't matter.

Anyone have experience with Stecils and Stripes?

I am having the exact same problems with stripes from PG.  I got a bad feeling this isn't going to end well.

I called them early this week, they said they sent some out last week to me, funny, it's been a week and a half and I have yet to see anything.  So far I am not impressed.

They have this section here on the Hitman's Forum as a service to ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS, funny thing is they havn't  even logged in since November 05, 2008, 01:49:53 PM.  Just the facts, Sorry ;D

I guess that means everyone loves the decals except a couple of complainers,   ::) I rank PG rite up there with RAM AIR RESTO. I will never buy off of either again. >:(

You can put me in with the complainers, I put the decals on, and then found out he sent me the wrong birds, I spoke with the owner, and we talked for a while, then sends out the wrong stuff. :(

PG reply from time to time on the TAC forum where they have their own Sponsor's section for questions and feedback, maybe try there also.

Talked with Stencils and Stripes today.  Really nice guy and returned my call after leaving a message.  Bought one red sail bird to see how I like the color combo as opposed to the gold, since the car came with red decals.

I vote for the gold decals on the red paint.  Just my opinion ;D

Your not alone, this is the most regretable purchase I have made in years.

Although quality has been poor, to be fair I must add customer service has been good in my experience so far.

I purchased my decals from "PG" from this website. It was a simple no brainer operation. The decals have been on my car for at least 2years now. No problems....no complaints. Shipped fast. I would recommend them. "Hitman" helped me with the correct color of decals for my car.

Stencils and stripes has much better customer service. I have still yet to see my replacement decals from PG, go with who ya want, just my two cents

I apologize for the delay.  I'm not sure what the hold up is, but would like to make sure that you're at least somewhat satisfied with this transaction.  Unfortunately I can't locate your file for without having more information.  Please call 800.941.4550 and ask for Nathan.  Thank you.

sorry but you guys just are not putting them on right or something...

I know the sail panel birds I think are some old stock , cause the last few kits Ive had  had the sail bird with the paper backer.   unless they come that way.     but I have not seen any problems with the few kits ive seen or helped put on.

when you use wax/greese remover ,  are you wipping it off with a clean cloth as soon as you wipe the remover on.  kinda like wax on wax off.     you got to wipe it off before it evaporates .

you may have toooooooo much wax in the clear.  you might need to 3000 it and power polish the area then put the decal on.   its ok to put decals over polish.  (not wax)

No disrespect Doug but I have put on quite a few stickers/decals, the car was clean, its not that they wouldn't stick to the car more than they would not release from the backing paper.  Funny that the ones from S and S adhered just fine.  If you have good luck with PG then by all means continue to use them, I am just stating the issues I have had is all.

Nathan at PG contacted me and is sending me the new graphics.  I explained to him and he made it right, so thats a good thing.   New sail birds are on the way

well considering they are part of this community, they took care of the problem and they didn't charge seems like decent business at least..... I have no loyalty to any sticker places, I was just stating my opinion, I believe that is the point of a forum?

It took awhile but they made it right, as long as I get the stickers I'll be happy.  Part of the issue was they wanted me to call them if I didn't get the stickers they supposedly sent, I got tired of getting attitude on the phone so I gave up and didn't call.  So at least now this issue is resolved.

Just questioning that 2 months with attitude is" decent" business as is your opinion.  You think it is and I think maybe not and that is a little surprising to me that anyone thinks that is "decent". Just stating MY OPINION.  Maybe its just me who thinks that after I spend my money on a product that the guy who took my money should stand behind  that product and provide me with the service for the paid for product in a timely and professional manner.  A consumer should not need to post in a public forum in order to get service, it should just happen.   But that is just me

guess i'm just used to shitty service and shitty results so the fact that they did anything was good news in my book.  Been getting hosed lately on ebay and with paypal so its just my mindset now that if I actually get anything I can use when I am done I am happy lol......either way its not my car, not my stickers, and really not my problem, just glad it was resolved for him in the end....could be stuck with money spent and no product like I have been for the past few months (purchase made from a guy outside of ebay, as addons to ebay order)....

Sorry to hear you have been getting screwed........but the screwing seems different to me if it comes from a legitimate business vs some scamer on E Bay or Craigs list.  With Ebay and other online stuff its always a gamble.
