Snowmobiles, anyone???
« on: November 09, 2008, 10:58:23 AM »
So with winter fast approaching for some of us & the need to put our Trans Am into storage anyone else into snowmobiling??  We currently have 3 sleds, 2-'06 Polaris 600HO Fusions (1-red, mine & 1-blue,wifes) and a '01 Polaris 600 EDGEX that I bought new & now has over 13,000 miles on it. We ride all over the northeast, mostly in Maine, average over 2,000 miles a year. Here's a pic I took in New York in 07 near the Tug Hill plateau.
BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!!!!

My Dad is really into snowmobiling. I know I know, Nevada isn't the place you think about snow. But the Ruby Mountains by Elko, NV has some pretty extreme snowmobiling. My Dad loves high marking and coming off huge cornices. He has a 2001 Yamaha (He only rides this one when the Polaris is broke, lol) and a 2002 Polaris 800, heavily modified, 151 inch track. He's a small guy so he doesn't need a super long track. I don't like snowmobiling, scares the crap outta me.

I actually don't like them much lol .Maybe because we have to use them at work ,and I get stuck because I'm a newb .
These pictures are from Mt.Baker ,7600 feet above sea level  . This is where we have to go in order to work on our head end . It can be really nice up there someday's ,but most of the time it is windy and a harsh climate to be in .
These pic's were taken during inversion . In town you cannot see the Mountains, but it was kinda sereal when we broke threw the clouds to see this .

Im not much for the cold. I hate when it drops to the lower 40s at night during the winters here. BUT.... Rainman that is a AWESOME  view.... If that doesnt put things into perspective for anyone then they have  some serious issues... ( nothing but a dot on this world).... thanks for sharing the pics  the one on the battom would make a great winter desktop pic.... possibly PS a white T/A in it... talk about a articbird then...lol

Rainman,
Thanks for those pictures, absolutely incredible. i havn't seen anything like that since I went skiing in the alps while stationed in Germany. Truely breath taking when you see that in person.

Since we have more winter than summer up here, my snowmobile gets more mileage than my TA (I'm not sure how I feel about that....it's butt a$$ cold right now!).  These pics were taken in the Spring of 2008 while riding in the Hoo Doo Mountains.  Hope you have a great Winter!          -Cher
