I don't know what's going on but for about the past week, maybe a little less, the forum has been super slow for me while all other sites seem fine. Are you slowing me down so I have to slow down posting?! :P

Thats a precautionary measure Rich. Its so your fast fingers dont catch on fire, as fast as you type.

I have been doing OK on the site. Sometimes it is almost like it is lost, but rebounds , then ok for a short while, then stalls...... It is kinda up and down like that. I am trying to track down what is causing that.

That's a good explanation of what's happening Brett. Right now, it's very fast. Just wanted to let you know as you asked us to keep you abreast of the forum acting up :)

OK, between 4:50 and 4:55, the site went into slow-mo again and then around 4:55 it picked up speed. Hope that helps.

Right now, it isn't too bad. Normally it is very slow, especially compared to TAC, and even PY at times (PY used to be very slow, but has been faster recently). At first I thought it was because of the number of users online, but one night I was the only one here and it was still slow.

Its been pretty slow for me the last few days, sometimes I have to try twice to upload replys or messages.
All the other sites I access were

Just a quick update, the site is still very slow, taking over a minute in some cases to load a page. At other times it works fine but, at least for me, it's slow more than its fast. No complaining mind you, just letting you know.

Yeah, I am getting pretty upset about it. I can't trace what is causing it. It is really bugging the crap out of me. I think I might have to move to a different server or something because I have tried everything else to correct the problem.

I'm not having any problems with the forum. I wonder if it just has something to do with the internet provider in your area.

Rich's check was a little slow this month...his ISP is getting even... ;D ;D ;)

I don't think it has to do with ISP and it is hard to explain why. But the short answer is that I can trace the slowness down to my actual server by looking at numbers there. So, I know I do have a problem with my server.

Just a piece of advise, and take it for what it's worth, but you should really change out that 486 w/ the 56k modem. That will definitly improve the speed of the forum, trust me on this one :P

I stopped by just after noon EST today, and I thought I was going to fall asleep before pages loaded. But now it's about 3 hours later and running OK. FWIW...:-\

I just think it is odd that you guys are having problems with the forum being slow. I haven't had any problem at all with it. The only time it is slow for me is when my computer is on the fritz. Then everything is slow.

The weird thing is,
All the other websites are fine for me.
Sometimes, this site is really slow.
This morning, it is going fast.

Yeah, it is up and down and all over the place. I get here sometimes and it is slow as all get-up... then a few minutes later, it is fast... then slow. it rebounds all over the place and it is hard to track down what the heck is causing it. Pretty soon, I will dump the server and do a new one.

I'm sure Brett is trying to figure out what to do. It's certainly not a show stopper as far as the sites functionality and viewability. It just slows down at times and then speeds back up. I've come to ignore it and just post on :D

I get it to but use a TABbed browser so I open a thread in a new tab and just let it load while I look at another thread in another tab. Very nice.

Today I have also been working on a new feature that is slwoing things down and that hopefully I will reveall tomorrow. It will be a nice addition if it all goes well....... stay tuned.

I do the same thing as Rich. It hasn't been bad for me today, But it has been slower tonight for me.

Everything is slow for me today. I just listed some sweaters on eBay and it took me forever! The forum has been on and off today.
