70 Trans Am
« on: November 25, 2017, 06:39:35 PM »
hi,

just joined forum since buying 70 Trans Am last week at Mecum LV. it is a RA 111 400 with a TH auto.  says numbers matching, but i have not verified. is an older restoration sitting for years in a collection. i am just starting to identify and fix problems. no need to make a list since there are many.

since i want to make the car a driver w/o jeopardizing its value, mods will be limited. it feels somewhat anemic compared to my 70 LS6 chevelle and other muscle cars from the late 60's that i have had or still own. another 75-100 hp should be enough to enjoy driving it a bit more.

i have built many engines over the years, mostly chevy's, never owned a pontiac, but then all engines are similar. i doubt that i will have much trouble doing changes myself. keeping original appearance in mind, what can be done to add some power?

Give it a good tune up and identify what you have is correct. Then make that list, since there are so many things to correct.
