I have had this Gold Y88 since 2000. I bought it from the proverbial "little old lady". She is a retired schoolteacher in her 70's. She owned the car from 1978-2000.
I bought this car because I wanted to re-live the first one I bought new in 1978 just out of high school.
In an effort to make it as good as new I believe it is better! certainly the paint quality these days is vastly improved.
Most of the interior is original with the exception of the carpet and seat covers and the headliner. Everything else is the way it came from the factory. The condition of the dash is amazing..like new.
The car was always and is now garage kept.
It has 67k original miles.
The engine has been rebuilt as it had a lifter noise in the top end, probably from sitting. Of course I took this as an opportunity to rebuild the whole thing.
It has awesome sounding real dual exhaust with magnaflow mufflers.
The car runs and drives perfectly and is super tight.
The cowl tag states that is a Y88, the build sheet was intact behind the seat showing the same.
I do not really want to sell this car but have purchased a 79 Y84 and a 78 W72 WS6 M21 49k car and need the room in my garage!
I would love to see this car go to the next someone who will love it as much as I have.
